Your family, fully supported, every step of the way.
For 25 years and 400+ births, I've helped families feel seen, prepared, and supported.
“I interviewed 8 different doulas, and within minutes of meeting Amethyst I knew she was the right match for our family. She's in the thick of it with you, and she won't leave your side. She's so informed, so well-read, and very respected in this field. She's truly an expert.” - Jessica

Continuous, personal support from the moment you hire me through labor, birth, and your entire first year as a parent. From navigating tough first trimester symptoms to finding your ideal OB or midwife to knowing when it’s time to go to the hospital, I'm here to help you feel ready and excited to meet your baby. Whenever you find me, that’s the right time to start. At our in-person prenatal visit in your 35th week of pregnancy, I will come to your home where we will create your birth plan together, discuss questions to ask your provider, and walk through the signs and stages of labor along with the comfort and relaxation techniques that suit you best. When you are in labor, I stay the whole way through, offering physical comfort, calming and breathing techniques, and grounding emotional support. I also act as a bridge between you and your medical team, helping you to ask questions and understand your options and keep your preferences front and center, so every decision stays truly yours. After your baby arrives, I help you get feeding started and stay close through your recovery.
Includes:
On-call from the day we start working together.
Unlimited text, call, and video support throughout your pregnancy and your first year postpartum.
One in-home prenatal visit (around 35-36 weeks).
Continuous labor and birth support at your home and hospital.
Informed advocacy with your care team.
Immediate help getting breast/chestfeeding off to a good start.
One in-home postpartum follow-up visit: feeding check-in, newborn care, calming techniques, and babywearing.
My private, pre-recorded childbirth education and lactation video library.
Hypnobirthing and Hypnobabies support, if desired.
Community referrals whenever you need them.

Practical, loving help in those first tender weeks and months, a stretch of time our culture tends to overlook right when families need the most reinforcement. Every family's needs look different, so my first job is always figuring out what yours are, then building a realistic plan around them. A typical session can include support and education across:
Feeding, whether you're breastfeeding, chestfeeding, pumping, bottle-feeding, or some mix of it all
Newborn care guidance: soothing, infant massage techniques, bathing, diapering, babywearing, and learning to read your baby's cues
Loving care for your own recovery and healing, body and heart, after a vaginal or cesarean birth
A skilled extra pair of hands so you can nap, shower, or simply breathe while your baby is cared for
Light tidying, laundry, and meal and snack prep to keep the household afloat
Emotional support and a steady, judgment-free presence for both parents
Gentle guidance on rest, sleep rhythms, and finding your footing as a family
Referrals to trusted outside providers if needed
Available as four-session and eight-session packages. Each session: three hours.

You bring every question you have (nothing is too small, too weird, or too TMI), and I walk you through what really happens before, during, and after labor in plain, honest language. By the end, you will understand what your body is doing, know the options in front of you, and feel genuinely ready to trust yourself and make the calls that are right for you and your family. Private, one-on-one learning built around your questions, your birth plan, and your schedule. Three private sessions, 2-hours each. Live-virtual and prerecorded options available. These same classes are also included, at no extra cost, in my Birth Doula Support package. (pre-recorded) This class covers, but isn't limited to:
The stages and phases of labor, and how to recognize when labor is starting
Laboring at home: tracking contractions and knowing when to head to your birth place
Comfort measures: breathing, movement, massage, and labor positions
The role of your partner or support person
What to expect from your birth setting, from triage to hospital policies
Common interventions, pain medication options, and demystifying the epidural
Induction and cesarean birth: what to expect and how to prepare
Informed consent, advocacy, and collaborating with your providers
What to pack and how to prepare
Newborn procedures right after birth
Your postpartum body and recovery

Meet Amethyst
💗 The best part of my life. My girl, Aura. 💗
For 25 years, I have supported families, from pregnancy through high school graduations and everything in between. Whether it be as a nanny, household manager, or doula, family care has been my lifelong passion. Today, I am a dual-certified labor and postpartum doula, childbirth educator, lactation counselor, and newborn care specialist.
I have experience supporting all kinds of birthing people with all kinds of birth plans, whether that's VBAC, VBA2C, C-section, twins, single parents, LGBTQIA2S+ families, home births and surrogacy births. More than anything, I want to help you have the most positive birth and postpartum experience possible.
I love being known as the person in your phone you can call anytime, about anything. I will laugh with you, listen with compassion, encourage you, and believe in you.
Becoming a mom to my own daughter, now two, deepened everything I understand about this work. Outside of my work life, I'm happiest outside: hiking, biking, or dancing salsa.
